PHI 110W, Summer 2013 (CRN 50969): Philosophy is all around us.  It is in the movies we enjoy, the books we read, the conversations we have, and the questions we ask.  In this class, we will seek to answer some of life’s big questions, including:  What can we know?  Do I have a soul?  Am I truly free?  Is there a God?  What makes an act right or wrong?  In our examination and evaluation of possible answers to these questions, we will look at what philosophers, both past and present, have had to say, and develop our own views on these issues.
