Systems Network Manager, College of Arts and Sciences, Eastern Kentucky University, Richmond, Kentucky. July 1991 - Present.
Management of Active Directory network for the College. This includes installation of software on network servers, establishing groups and group permissions, managing network connections for computers and setting up and managing connections to multiple shared printers and networked photocopiers.
Responsibilities include:
  • Establishing and maintaining multiple connections to shared materials such as software and printers.
  • Setup and installation of new computer purchases for faculty and staff in the college.
  • Consulting with and assisting faculty and staff with network related hardware and software problems.
  • Consult and negotiate with hardware and software companies to insure the purchase of network compatible hardware and software for the college.
  • Acting as liaison between Information Technology and Delivery Services and the College to insure proper installation of network services including wiring, hardware, and supporting software.
  • Providing instruction to the network users in the College in the proper procedures for using the network.
Web Administrator, (Concurrent with above position) College of Arts and Sciences, Eastern Kentucky University, Richmond, Kentucky. June 2004 - Present.
Develop, manage and maintain over 1700 web pages for the College of Arts and Sciences and all departments within the College. This includes working with the University Web Administrator and disabilities office in order to maintain a consistent appearance and Section 508 Compliancy, as well as with web coordinators of the 17 departments housed within the college in order to maintain a functional and structurally sound web presence.
Responsibilities include:
  • Develop and maintain all web pages associated with the College of Arts and Sciences ensuring that they adhere to the approved CAS visual identity standards, laws pertaining to accessibility, laws pertaining to copyright and all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Maintain the structural integrity of the college website and all its subsidiaries by maintaining all links and references.
  • Conferring with departments, offices, and programs on a regular basis to maintain the integrity of the information provided on the web pages so as to ensure that obsolete material is removed at regular intervals and pages are updated regularly.
  • Actively research new ways to create and use dynamic content on web pages so as to provide the audience with an informative and pleasant web experience, thus soliciting their return to the college sites.
  • Development and presentation of a two-day intensive workshop on web site development and maintenance.
Coordinator, Science Learning Resource Center,(Concurrent with above positions) Eastern Kentucky University, Richmond, Kentucky. May 1988 - Present.
Management of a microcomputer center for the College of Arts and Sciences that consists of 25 computers (PC platform) and peripherals.
Responsibilities include:
  • Hiring, firing, training, supervision and management of student employees and graduate assistant.
  • Installation, setup, and management of an Active Directory network consisting of 25 PC's, network printers, scanners, and ScanTron.
  • Creation and maintenance of website using html, php, and css.
  • Maintenance of all hardware and software used in the center.
  • Purchasing of all computers and supporting hardware and software, determining and ensuring compatibility with the current equipment used in the center and on campus.
  • Consulting with and assisting faculty and staff with computer hardware and software problems.
  • Advising and assisting students in the use of the software used in the center.
  • Acquisition and maintenance of licensing agreements for all software used in the center.
  • Preparation and presentation of yearly statistical reports summarizing the use of the center.

Part-time Faculty, Department of Geology, Eastern Kentucky University, Richmond, Kentucky. August 1993 - May 1994.
Prepared, instructed, and evaluated two sections of "GLY 108: Physical Geology" laboratories, which included topics on mineral and rock identification, topographic and geologic maps and structural geology.

Naturalist, Versailles State Park, Versailles, Indiana. Summer 1985.
Prepared and presented three to five daily programs, each approximately one hour in duration, which dealt with a variety of science and nature related topics.
