Brief Encounters: A deep philosophical poem on the nature of the
human condition.
Hobble, hobble, crooked old man;
Cane and cup and rusty frying pan.
Down by the railroad
Sittin' all alone
Looking for a box car to call his home.
Junk yard dog with a lean and wary eye
Stops with a start as he goes snuffling by.
Old man stares then reaches for a friend.
Pauses for a scratch then snuffles off again.
