Picture of Professor Hunter visiting Squad 51 Welcome to my homepage.

I am a full Professor with the Paramedic (EMC) Program here at Eastern Kentucky University and a graduate of the Educational Psychology doctoral program at University of Kentucky. I also hold a Master's degree in Health Education and an undergraduate degree in Emergency Medical Care.  My research interests include diversity, self-efficacy and learning theories.

The picture of me seen above was taken during a trip to visit the famous "Squad 51" - named after the station in the show Emergency.   Our program offers Associate of Science and Bachelor of Science degrees in Emergency Medical Care.  EKU's Paramedic program is the only nationally accredited Paramedic Program in Kentucky.  We host offices for Prehospital Trauma Life Support and Advanced Medical Life Support for Kentucky.
My professional experience includes over 25 years in EMS.  During that time I functioned as a street Paramedic, EMS Supervisor, dive team member, Director of Training and Quality Assurance, Communications Specialist, and a certified instructor for EMT, EMT-I and Paramedic courses.  I am a certified instructor in ACLS, PALS, BCLS, PEPP, AMLS and more.  Please feel free to visit our Program's web-pages or contact me directly if you have any questions about EKU.
