Text: A Laboratory Guide to Human Physiology: Concepts and Clinical Applications by Stuart Ira Fox

Lecture Notes:
 

Course objective: To learn some of the fundamental concepts of human physiology

Exams: There will be three quizzes (20 pts. each), two lab assignments (20 pts. each), plus two major exams (100 pts. each). Quizzes and exams will be over material provided in lectures, the lab manual, and other sources (such as videos).

The mid-term will be over material covered during the first half of the course while the final will be over material covered during the second half of the course. Quizzes and exams will consist of multiple choice questions and essay questions.

Grading: Grades will be based on total points earned out of the 300 possible  (quizzes & assignments   = 100, mid-term exam = 100, and final exam = 100): 270 - 300 = A, 240 - 269 = B, 210 - 239 = C, 180 - 209 = D, and < 179 = F.

Attendance: Attendance is required. If a lab is missed for a legitimate reason (e.g., sickness or a university-sanctioned event), make-up quizzes/exams will be  arranged. If a student misses a lab and does not have a legitimate reason, no make-up will be arranged and the student will receive a 0 for the missed quiz or exam.

Mid-term grade: Your grade at mid-term will be provided with your score on the  mid-term exam.
