Guidelines for Proposal


SLAWB Research Fund

The Scientific Literature & Writing in Biology (SLAWB) Research Fund provides monies for biological research. Funds are for research conducted by graduate students enrolled in BIO 801 at Eastern Kentucky University. Awards typically range from $200 - $1,000.

Applications must be submitted to the Chair of the SLAWB Research Fund Committee (see address below) by the date indicated in the BIO 801 syllabus. Applications must be limited to seven (7) double-spaced pages. Applications must include the following:

1 - Cover sheet with title of proposal & name and address of investigator (Page 1)

2 - Project description (Pages 2 - 5) (appropriate for evaluation by biologically-literate individuals who may not be specialists in your area of research). This should include an Introduction that includes:

and a Methods and Materials section that includes: 4 - Literature cited (Page 6)

5 - Detailed & justified budget (subdivide budget into travel, equipment, expendable supplies, and other costs; no funds are available for stipends) (Page 7)
