¨ Course Title:         CSC507/707 Computer Crime and Forensics

¨ Section #:    51228/51230     Date and Time: MW: 6:00—8:20pm, May 19—July 11

¨ Course Description:

        Introductory course on computer crime and forensics. Course topics include: computer security incident response process; computer criminal evidence collection, analysis and handling: Windows and Linux systems investigation;  email investigation; malicious code investigation; network traffic analysis and router investigation; hacker tools analysis; computer forensic report writing.

¨ Who need this course?

¨ You will greatly benefit from this course, if your job involves or you want to find a job involving,  or you are just interested in doing the following things:

· Investigating the theft of source code or proprietary information;

· Investigating the theft of password files or credit information;

· Investigating spam or email harassment and threats;

· Investigating unauthorized or unlawful intrusions into computer systems;

· Investigating denial-of-service attacks;

· Providing forensic support of criminal , fraud, intelligence, and security investigations;

· Act as the focal point for your organization’s computer incident and computer forensic matters;

· Provide on-site assistance for computer search and seizures
